How to become a Home Based Travel Agent?
I am interested in becomming a Home Based Travel Agent .Anyone out there is familiar with this industry? Is it profitable?Does this even make sense?
The best way to do it is to become an outside agent. Go to a travel agency in your area and ask them if they need outside agents. Usually they will let you book your friends and family and anyone else and you can get a commission from them. I did this for years and would make 30 - 40% commission depending on if I just referred someone or did all the work myself.
Some agencies in the past have tried to cahrge people to become outside agents, so beware of this as you do not need to pay anything for this. Remember, you are doing them a favour by booking trips through them.
