I accidentally soaked my bag which contained my nikon D40 cam when I got off a boat into the water. Didnt know the water would be up to my waist and reached about 1/4 of the bag. The cam was pointed up and the beach towel that I had in the bag was actually the one that got 80% soaked since it was right under the camera. But the back of the cam got wet due to contact with the towel and now its not working. I wiped it dry and noted that there is no water inside the lens or the cam when I removed the lens. The battery got a little wet but no water reached the silver contact points. The storage card is working fine. So basically only the controls and the lcd got most of the water contact. Can this still be repaired? has anyone tried getting their nikon cam fixed and how much did it cost you? Thanks in advance.
