Nikon D40 Protection - Shade, Film, or Armor?

Okay I want to protect my Nikon D40's LCD from rain, scratches, smudges, and dust. Should I buy the protective film (fits right onto the LCD screen), the body armor (protects everything including lens and body), or a shade (fits onto the back of the D40 and allows use of buttons, yet has a shade hood that might get in the way of taking pictures).

If anyone has experience with any of these (or all of them), please give advice thanks!

I'd go with the LCD screen, as I use similar products on my cellphone, gps, and on all delicate glass surfaces.

The body armor adds bulk and makes the compact dslr clumbersome to hold and use.

The flip-up shade gets in the way, and breaks easily.

I shoot professionally, and have never seen a serious shooter on either side of me using the second or third product you've asked about.
